|ONA have had to evolve with the current situation of more ‘Business’s Working from Home’ and as such have been more involved with Home Installations! Business’s still need to ‘Do Business’ whatever the circumstances, and I suspect you will be reading this from your HOME, are you not!?
Some of those Offices have been a little rushed in their installation. We know from experience that the Micro/Mini Business or SME will put more into the connectivity at their Office/ Business premises, but not necessarily their connectivity within their Small Office Home Office – SOHO!
Creating Connectivity Issues!
Connectivity issues can be placed at the door of a number of things within the SOHO. But they are mainly due to either Broadband and/ or Wi-Fi connectivity issues and we all LOVE/NEED to be connected nowadays, do we not?
There is a simple misconception that Broadband and Wi-Fi are the same.
So, ALEXA is Broadband the same as Wi-Fi? Well, no it isn’t!
A quick definition is …
… essentially Wi-Fi is a wireless connection in your house or business, that connects your phone or computer to your modem/router, while Broadband is the actual internet connection that your modem/router uses to send and receive data from your house to the wider world. (Source Google Search)
So, for the SOHO this highlights two issues:
Firstly Wi-Fi, the position of the Router to Office location - do you get connection issues? does that need to be enhanced? Often, a common issue, especially in older houses; thick walls etc!
Secondly, your BROADBAND package! What is the bandwidth of your broadband? Bandwidth, measured in bits or Mbps (Megabits per second), is the volume of data that can be carried via a broadband connection per second, and is a key indicator of “internet speed”. (Source Google Search)
So, if you make business calls, need to use Google/Zoom meet (other face 2 face options are available), have to process business data, need presentation tools, and these do not work as well as when you are at your actual Office/Business Premise then you probably have a Broadband and/or a Wi-Fi issue.
